The Coastal Pig!

This pattern was inspired by the town of Cape May New Jersey. It's an amazing place on the Jersey shore with tons of history and charm.

The Coastal Pig 

Supplies:

• Bernat blanket or baby blanket yarn in one color. Or use any color combo!

• Fiber fill or similar filling for stuffing

• Safety eyes 15 mm

• Large sewing needle

• Size G 5.0 mm crochet hook

For this crochet pattern you will need the following stitches:

• mc=magic circle

• sc=single crochet

• 2 sc in one stitch=increase (inc)

• 2 sc together=decrease (dec)

All crocheted in the round and using the invisible decrease (decreasing only using the front loops)

Pattern for the head and body:                                       

1. Mc (6 stitches)

2. Inc in each stitch (12)

3. Back loops only 1 sc in each, (12)

4. 1 sc in each stitch  (12)

5. 1sc in each stitch (12)

6. Front loops only (2sc, inc) x 4 (16)

7. (3sc, inc) x 4 (20) 

8. (4sc,inc) x 4 (24)

9. (3sc,inc) x 6 (30)

10. (5sc,inc) x 5 (35)

11. 1 sc in each stitch (35)

12. 1 sc in each stitch (35)

13. 1 sc in each stitch (35)

14.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

15.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

16.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

17.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

18.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

19.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

20.  1 sc in each stitch (35)

21.  (5sc, dec) x 5 (30)

22.  (3sc, dec) x 6 (24)

23.  (2sc, dec) x 6 (18)

24.  1 sc in each stitch (18)

25.  (1sc, dec) x 6 (12)

26.  Decrease x 6, finish off 

Start stuffing the head and place safety eyes between rows 8 and 9 with about 6 stitches between them. 

Pattern for the feet times 4:

1.  mc (5 stitches) 

2. Inc x 5 (10)

3. Back loops only 1sc in each (10)

4. 1sc in each (10)

Pattern for the ears times 2:

1. mc (4 stitches)

2. Inc in each stitch (8)

3. (3sc, inc) x 2 (10)

Pattern for the tail:

1. Ch 10

2. Inc in each stitch starting with second chain from the hook (18)

Sew in this order 

1. Ears to the head/body

2. Feet to the body 

3. Tail to the body
