Beatrice and Beckett the Bear

Supplies:

  • Bernat blanket or baby blanket yarn in two colors (one skein of each) and some brown or black blanket yarn for the nose and mouth. Or use any color combo!

  • Fiber fill or similar filling for stuffing

  • Safety eyes 18 mm

  • Safety nose 26 mm x 21 mm if using

  • Large sewing needle

  • Size G 5.0 mm crochet hook

For this crochet pattern you will need the following stitches:

  • mc=magic circle

  • sc=single crochet

  • 2 sc in one stitch=increase (inc)

  • 2 sc together=decrease (dec)

All crocheted in the round and using the invisible decrease (decreasing only using the front loops)

Pattern for the head:

  1. Mc (6 stitches)

  2. Inc in each stitch (12)

  3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

  4. (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)

  5. (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)

Start stuffing the head and place safety eyes between rows 11 and 12 with about 6 stitches between them. Stuff the very top of the head well to help it look less pointy. After the head is completed you can remove even more by attaching a strand of yarn to the very top with a knot and pulling down through the head burying the yarn tails.
